What Photographers say about this lens
“I used this lens in an ocean environment, as my one and only lens.
Can’t say enough good things about this lens. Great quality optics. Covered the range necessary to get great shots quick and easy.

Its a must have lens for all photographers at any level”.
“I’m a pro photographer using both the Canon 5D MkIII and Canon 7D professionally, and the Rebel T3i for travel/vacations. I recently purchased this lens because I wanted more reach than I could get with my Canon EF 24-105L. As soon as I got this lens, I put it to a very simple test: how well would it render a small, tabletop subject shot hand-held? I think the attached image speaks for itself. I set up a couple of strobes with reflectors for this test, and mounted it on my 7D. The image is sharp and the colors true with good contrast. I was very pleased with this result. The image stabilization performed well, too.Next, I shot a wedding with this lens on my 7D and the 24-105L on my 5D3. I was very impressed at how well the images shot with this lens compared with the far more expensive L-glass.In short, this lens is a great value for the money, and I look forward to using it a great deal more in the future, both for paid and personal use”.

The Hilo Photography Club is based on the Big Island of Hawaii and has been meeting monthly since 1978. Our members have a common interest in both technical and creative photography and enjoy sharing their craft/profession/ hobby with others. Member skills range from novice to professional. There are currently over 50 members from all parts of the island. HPC is a volunteer organization and members are encouraged to assist with exhibitions and various other activities.

The monthly meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month, 7 pm, at the Kamana Senior Center, 127 Kamana Street (above Kinoole) in Hilo. Visitors are welcome to attend.

The meetings feature slideshows by members and guest photographers, contests, critiques, and information about the latest camera and digital techniques is shared. Past demonstrations and lecture topics have included matting and framing, digital infrared, Photoshop classes, programs about the pioneers of photography and much more. The HPC has frequent group field trip outings and occasional camping trips.                                                                                                                                           Our monthly newsletter is filled with member images, meeting reviews, information about upcoming club activities, exhibitions and photographic articles.

We have an active board of directors who meet monthly for a potluck and planning session.   Members are welcome to attend board meetings and can get information on the date and location from any board member.
