Rose Parade, Pasadena, California

Contribution of Michael Poore

I had the good fortune to attend the Rose Parade in Pasadena this year.  It was the 128th parade.  Through friends of mine I was able to have a seat in the grandstands about twenty feet away from the floats.  We were also given a tour just for the three of us through one of the barns where the floats are assembled.  Image 1 shows some of the assembly working progress.  Image two shows more of the work and image three shows the float in the parade.

Hawaii’s float, “Spirit of Hawaii” was near the front of the parade.  It was the winner of the Sweepstakes Trophy this year.  Images four and five show our float.
